How Sildenafil Citrate Works:
Two chemicals are produced by the male body whilst sexually aroused, Cyclic GMP which causes the muscles in the arterial wall of the penis to relax (thus allowing increased blood flow) and phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE-5) which decreases erections. Sildenafil is a PDE-5 inhibitor, it causes a vigorous build up of Cyclic GMP causing the penis to stay erect in inhibits the chemical which normally decreases an erection. In order to Sildenafil to work, the man must be sexually stimulated. Sildenafil will not work without sexual stimulation.
Sildenafil Citrate Side Effects:
Sildenafil Citrate side effects are generally mild in nature and every man may react differently to the drug. The most common side effects are an upset stomach, light headache and facial flushing (redness). Other possible yet less common sildenafil citrate side effects include tinted or blurry vision and diarreah. Sever side effects include chest pains, severe nausea or dizziness, and prolonged erections. If you experience any of these severe side effects, seek immediate medical attention.Medical precautions before taking Sildenafil Citrate:
Sildenafil Citrate pills or jellies must be used under doctor supervision. Nitrates are also found in Amyl Nitrate ( Poppers), a recreational drug used primarily among younger men. Mixing Sildenafil Citrate with medications that contain nitrates can cause severe drops in blood pressure which can lead to heart attack or stroke.
